This week, I decided on Studio Lighting. As an aspiring cinematographer, this unit truly intrigued me. I'm not very good at studio lighting however this week taught me a lot about lighting which will translate into my career in the future. Overall, I'm not satisfied with my work. The first one, "Rachel" was backlighting gone horribly wrong. I did like the use of my key light to make it look like nice, however I think this photo can be %100 better. Lighting can be adjusted to have a much more impactful feel, and its something I should consider in future projects. The second photo, entitled "Sam", I'm pretty happy with, but could be better. The lighting looks like something out of a super-hero movie, which as a geek, is awesome. I think if I used rule of thirds more prominently in this photo it would look 10x better. Quite happy with "Sam", but it could be better. My third photo, entitled "Sonja & Sam" I'm relatively happy with. This photo was achieved with ceiling light. I truly liked this effect, for portrait photography. I really like the way that the light reflects off of Sonja's hair to provide a pronounced detail. Overall, ALL these photos, can be so much better. Overall, unsatisfied.
